In this fourth lesson we finish introducing you to the consonant sounds of the Shudda sinhala hodiya. There are a total of 22 consonant sounds to be found in the Shudda sinhala hodiya, of which the last 10 are displayed below.

Don’t worry if at first all the letters seem to sound alike. This is mainly due to the fact that your ear isn’t used to hearing the sounds of sinhala. Given time and practice on your part – remembering to say it out loud – you will find that you are better able to distinguish the different sounds, more easily.
